Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Summer Tour 2010

The Dave Matthews band is made up of Matthews, Stefan Lessard, Leroi Moore, Boyd Tinsley, and Carter Beauford. The group is best known for the unmistakable sound that is a more pop-oriented version of the Grateful Dead crossed with the worldbeat explorations of Paul Simon and Sting. Dave Matthews built up a strong word-of-mouth following in the early ’90s by touring the country constantly, concentrating on college campuses.

In the past decade, Dave Matthews Band has earned the distinct honor of being the biggest concert ticket seller worldwide, selling upwards of a whopping 11 million tickets to 547 shows from 2000-2009, according to Billboard. In fact, DMB were the only group to exceed 10 million in attendance for the period. Now that’s what I call putting asses in the seats. Additionally, the band has sold over 17 million tickets since its inception. Basically, a lot of people head out to see “Dave” and drink beers and singalong to his regular guy rock anthems!

With preparations underway for its 20th consecutive summer tour, the group will actually be taking a break soon! DMB recently told fans that they will be taking next year off. “We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people’s lives,” Dave Matthews Band said collectively in a statement posted on the band website earlier this month. “We’re excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.” So if you are a huge DMB worshipper, get out to see the band this summer, since you won’t have a chance next year. The summer tour which begins in CT Comcast Theatre in Hartford on May 28, ends at MN Xcel Energy Center, St Paul on September 15.
